Jomark Produce is a family owned business and orchard based in Katikati, New Zealand, run by Jodie and Mark Power with the help of our two children, Sydney and Lachlan. Our orchard and the produce we grow are built on persistence, passion, and a genuine love for the land.
In 2012 we purchased our first avocado orchard block, followed by a second block in 2014. At the time, the orchard was far from perfect, many of the trees were unhealthy, overcrowded, lacking sunlight, and therefore struggling to produce quality fruit. Over the years we restored the orchard back to health. The result came from a lot of hard work, learning and patience, but working on the orchard eventually became a sanctuary from our busy life in Auckland at the time.

In 2022 we moved permanently onto the orchard, and today our orchard is home to around 400 healthy avocados trees, along with a range of specialty produce including finger limes, tamarillos, kiwifruit and passionfruit. We have an ever growing passion for growing produce and making sure that the produce we sell is the best of the best.
Our avocados are picked to order and carefully packed, we don't take any shortcuts and value quality. A lot of the work around the orchard is still done by just us, from mowing and pruning through to hand fertilising the trees. We regularly carry out soil and leaf testing to make sure the trees are receiving the nutrients they need. Our orchard is also monitored every six weeks for pests, and we take a very careful approach when it comes to spraying. We only spray if industry approved thresholds are exceeded, and even then, if it’s borderline, we’ll often monitor again before deciding whether spraying is truly necessary

Our love for our orchard also extends to the natural environment around us. Since 2019, we have planted over 500 native flaxes and a wide range of native trees including Kauri, Rimu, Kōwhai, and Pōhutukawa to restore waterways and encourage native birdlife back to the property. Today, tūī, kererū, kingfishers, fantails, and other native birds are a regular part of daily life on the orchard. We encourage other growers to incorporate native planting on their properties, as it not only benefits the environment, but employing our natural flora can help reduce runoff into waterways and create natural protective barrier systems. And beyond the practical benefits these native plants provide, one of the best parts is having fantails following you around the orchard while you work.
Everything we grow reflects the care we put into our land. From orchard to customer, we are proud to share produce that is grown with dedication, experience, and a true passion for quality.
From our family to yours — thank you for supporting local New Zealand produce.
